Embracing Autumn in the Brecks
Our quick guide for enjoying autumn to the fullest in the Norfolk and Suffolk Brecks. More
Essential information for anyone swimming, angling, paddleboarding, canoeing or wading in Brecks rivers.
“Swimming, angling, paddleboarding, canoeing and wading…”
Experiencing nature alongside, on, or even in a river can be incredibly powerful and something we encourage and advocate for more people to enjoy. However, our recreation can also have a negative impact on the river and its wildlife.
To help you traverse the waterways and the surrounding environment with river health in mind, Norfolk Rivers Trust, in collaboration with the Brecks Fen Edge and Rivers Landscape Partnership Scheme (BFER), has produced a River Users’ Best-Practice Guide.
This guide provides essential information on what constitutes a natural river, how to avoid damaging vital habitats, and how to report potential obstructions and invasive species. By following this best practice guide, river users can help us protect these delicate ecosystems while savouring the beauty and benefits of Norfolk’s rivers.
