Thetford Textile River Display

See Thetford Town Council’s Volunteer Craft Group’s amazing textile river on display at Thetford Library.

Thetford Town Council’s Volunteer Craft Group meet weekly on a Wednesday morning for a social creative gathering. The group use their combined skills to work on textile based projects.  These have included creating crocheted flowers en masse to cover the Thetford Carnegie to mark Queen Elizabeth II’s  Platinum Jubilee. The group are currently working on a series of textile panels for BFER, depicting scenes inspired by Thetford’s two rivers, the Thet and Little Ouse. The first completed panel combines the group’s collective skills in textiles, crochet, and knitting, and shows a scene inspired by the abundance of river wildlife found in Thetford.

The panel will be on display in Thetford Library from May 24th.

Meet the group at Thetford Library on Wednesday 31st May for a special drop-in Craft and Cake session (find out more information HERE)
