Embracing Autumn in the Brecks
Our quick guide for enjoying autumn to the fullest in the Norfolk and Suffolk Brecks. More
BFER take a trip to Thompson Common to discover what watery wildlife we can see.
We had a very exciting trip to NWT Thompson Common in May, joined by SCC Councillor Melanie Vigo Di Gallidoro. We met up with NWT Site Manager, Jonathan Preston who gave us a tour of the Pingo Trail and, during our walk we met school children from Caston Primary School who were on a school trip to view the pingo ponds and learn about their local wildlife. The school children took part in ‘Nature Art’ activities and bug and insect identification. As part of our Water Wildlife Education project we are funding Norfolk and Suffolk Wildlife Trust to take schools in the Brecks to their local wildlife spot and have some outdoor lessons. We spoke to teachers and school children who all said they really enjoyed being outdoors and learning about all different types of wildlife. We also spotted a Four-Spotted Chaser dragonfly which we showed to the school children, who were fascinated by it.
