Following a BFER grant, Thetford Station have installed two new information panels to celebrate Breckland, its history and the work of local conservation groups.

The panel on the left gives a bit of information about swifts and bats. It is installed below the hybrid Common Swift/Bat boxes and solar powered Swift call device installed last year as part of the Breckland Community Green Grant Scheme.

The panel on the right gives a whistle-stop tour of the areas flint history through the station buildings themselves, as well as more information on the defining characteristics and species of the Brecks.

With around 200,000 people using Thetford train station every year, the panels will give visitors and residents the chance to pause and realise the beauty and distinctiveness of the area. There are so many ways to inspire people to look closer at the landscape and get involved with some of the amazing projects being run in Breckland.
