The Summer of the Drum

Following success with drumming events in 2023, West Stow Country Park made August 2024 the summer of the drum under our Waters Colour project. From the 14th to the 21st of August, Norfolk drumming company Bear No 9 were in residence in the Anglo-Saxon Village, holding interactive drumming demonstrations every day in the Great Hall. Across the week, 170 people were able to take part in these sessions, under the thatch and the beam of the recreated ancient village.

On the evening of the 19th of August, the drummers held a special sessions, drumming under the light of the Summer Super Blue Moon. This is an event we were able to capture in a short film which you can watch here: Summer Blue Moon Drum Circle
