The Industrious Rivers research report is underway!

Industrious Rivers project volunteers took part in an introductory research day, preparing for the creation of the project’s research report

Over 20 volunteers of the Industrious Rivers project joined a research day at the Guildhall in Thetford, helping them to prepare for the creation of the project’s research report. During the session, presentations were delivered, looking at the variety of research resources available for examining the industrial heritage of the rivers in the Brecks. A case study was provided, demonstrating how the history of a complex of buildings by a canal was researched using multiple sources.

Project volunteers were also inducted in practical processes for submitting research, such as use of Dropbox to store project resources, findings and images. An emerging outline for the report was discussed and volunteers were invited to identify aspects that they would like to research.
