Storm Babet didn’t dampen the spirits of last weekend’s participants and volunteers of the Sapiston 5k and 10k trail runs.
Ready Steady Go at the Sapiston Trail Runs
Last Sunday the sun was shining for the participants and volunteers of the Sapiston 5k and 10k trail runs. Despite the preceding heavy rain of Storm Babet, it was blue skies for the morning’s running events. The runs were organised by Run Breckland in collaboration with BFER and BFER partner, Suffolk Rights of Way. The routes followed footpaths and byways in a loop around Sapiston and Honington, in Suffolk’s picturesque Black Bourn Valley. These included new public access routes developed by Suffolk Rights of Way through the BFER project, Accessible Rivers.
Well done to all who took part, and a huge shout out to the amazing team of volunteers who supported the event.
Volunteers are key to these events, helping to direct and cheer on participants, hand out medals, assist with timekeeping, and support the Run Breckland team. If you would like to join a friendly community of volunteers, and help Run Breckland at a future event, please contact the Run Breckland team via: runbreckland@btinternet.com
A big thank you to the Run Breckland team for all of their amazing hard work facilitating another fantastic event.
If you missed this event, fear not! Run Breckland have an exciting calendar of upcoming events you can take part in. Whether a keen runner or total beginner, all are welcome to join these inclusive events. With no cut off times, participants can go at their own pace, whether walking, jogging or running.
