Pond Creation at Drake Primary

Drake Primary have been working hard after receiving a grant to create a nature garden and pond in their school grounds. After a hole was dug for the pond and bog area, with a shelf to give different levels, the pond was lined and a wooden platform for pond dipping installed. The school chose to let the pond fill as naturally as possible and, once the pond is full, the children have plans for planting around the edges.

The school also used the springboard of the pond plan to apply for a further grant from another organisation which was successful and will help with making their nature garden even better!
