The latest volunteer-training workshop run by the River Lark Catchment Partnership.
A ‘mudspotter’ sediment monitoring training course was delivered to seven volunteers in July. This will equip volunteers better to monitor river health in future and is just the latest of many volunteer training workshops delivered by the River Lark Catchment Partnership (RLCP).
This is part of RLCP’s preparations with Anglian Water and the National catchment Systems Thinking Cooperative (CaSTCo) project for the Chalk Stream Flagship project.
Chalk Stream Flagship projects are a Government led (DEFRA/OFWAT/EA) initiative to improve England’s ecologically special chalk streams (70% of the world’s chalk streams are in Southern England). The work completed by RLCP under the lottery-funded River Lark Channel Restoration project has equipped the group well to be a part of this new, national chalk stream initiative.
