InfoPoint arrives at RSPB Lakenheath Fen

InfoPoint arrives at RSPB Lakenheath Fen, bringing brand new digital content to the remotest reaches of the Reserve.

RSPB Lakenheath Fen have launched their brand new InfoPoint unit. Situated at the Joist Fen viewpoint, it is 2.5 km away from the site’s Visitor Centre. As a result, it is allowing digital interpretation content to be accessible at the remotest reaches of the site, something that would previously have been impossible due to poor connectivity and lack of signal. The new unit allows visitors to access information about the Reserve, the work being undertaken, and the wildlife present on the site and observable from the viewpoint where it is situated.

RSPB Lakenheath Fen plan to connect the unit with a live nest-cam feed from a nearby Barn owls nest, allowing visitors experience an up close insight into the lives of these charismatic birds without disturbing them. The nest-cam will enable visitors to see recorded highlights, allowing them to see the barn owls at times of day other then dawn and dusk, when they are most active.
