The first Stakeholder workshop for the Brecks Options Study, commissioned by Suffolk County Council, in support of developing a legacy for the Brecks Fen Edge & Rivers Landscape Partnership took place at the end of July.
The workshop asked participants to consider a variety of things such as existing local initiatives, strengths and weaknesses of the current approach to landscape and heritage management work, and look at/discuss future opportunities.
There was a great turn out with many partner organisations, and a good spread of landscape and heritage interests represented. It was clear form the engagement and positivity at the event that there is indeed a strong appetite for continued collaborative working the Brecks after this scheme ends.
The outcome of this workshop will be reviewed, and options presented back to stakeholders at a Webinar planned for the 20th September. At this event we will feed back the findings from Workshop 1 and our research into management options.
Workshop 2 is planned for 2nd November. At this event we will have guest speakers who will explain a number of options for future management. There will also be a chance to discuss these options and to identify a preferred way forward.
