Watery wildlife of NWT Thompson Water

Join Norfolk Wildlife Trust to celebrate the wonderful landscape of Thompson Common! With five fabulous events to choose from, there is something for all the family.

Thompson Common is a fascinating and diverse Brecks habitat. Famous for its ‘pingo’ ponds – a network of around 400 small pools created during the last Ice Age, the site is also home to the UK’s rarest amphibian, the northern pool frog. Discover more about the amazing wildlife that inhabit the site at one of the Watery Wildlife Discovery Day events:

 

 Brilliant Birds, 10am-11.30am

A fun family workshop to learn about the brilliant birds at this Reserve.

Crafty Creations, 1pm-2.30pm

Create woodland works of art with natural materials at this crafty family workshop.

 

In search of our feathered friends…., 3pm-4.30pm

Join NWT Ambassador, Nick Acheson on this guided walk as he shows us some of the birds that make Thompson Common so special.

 

Walk with the Warden, 5pm-6.30pm

Wander with a warden and discover the amazing heritage and natural history of Thompson Common.

 

Pips, Natterers and Noctules, 7pm-8.30pm

Experience the nocturnal goings-on of the brilliant bats and other wildlife at Thompson Common.
