Enjoy this leisurely walk first to see Brandon’s old Town Street centre with parish church, old workhouse, site of almshouses and manor house, then down old lanes and paths near popular river recreation spots where we will hear about navigation on the river and how people enjoyed swimming, boating and fishing in the past (and still do). Have you heard of the ‘Lougars’ swim spot and do you know how its name originated?

We will also immerse ourselves in the sights and sounds of the river Little Ouse and countryside, finishing with free tea and coffee and a chance to chat in the Leisure and Health Hub café.

This walk is organised and led by @OSBrecks (osbrecks.co.uk) jointly with Brandon Wellbeing Walks who run free sociable walks from Brandon Health Hub every Monday at 9.30am (on Facebook: Brandon Wellbeing Walks and on the Hub website www.abbeycroft.org.uk/health-walks.
