Thetford River Trail

Explore the rich heritage of Thetford and its rivers on this guided walk of the brand new Thetford River Trail.

As part of The Brecks Fen Edge & Rivers Landscape Partnership Scheme, Thetford Town Council has developed three brand new river heritage trails.

These vary in length and take in the majority of Thetford’s river corridor. Each trail gives a fascinating taster of the town’s rich heritage at points along the route.
With two rivers, The Little Ouse and The Thet, the rivers have been instrumental in the development of the town over the centuries. Today they are a great amenity for the residents of Thetford as well as being a focal point for visitors to the town.

Additional points of interest and further development of the trails are planned in the future. The routes will be available to download from the Thetford Town Council website and durable hard copies will be available in due course. Come and join us for a walk around one of the trails as the town launches this exciting new venture.
