Join this group and explore the river by foot and by canoe!
Join for free and walk alongside the river or, for a small charge, sit back in a canoe and have someone paddle you downriver!
We will travel from the Riverside Jetty to First Staunch. A limited number of participants will be able to travel downstream by canoe as passengers (for a small charge which will support the work our partner Bush Adventures does in the community), while additional participants will walk along beside the river on the Haling Path. All will walk back together, passing the Priory and other sites of Thetford’s trading, industrial and social history, and will hear stories about swimming, fishing, boating and having fun in the rivers. We will invite participants to immerse in the sights and sounds of the river Little Ouse, as well as getting a sense of its importance in the history of the town.
