Thetford Town Council and Brecks Fen Edge & River Landscape Partnership funded event via Heritage Lottery Funding.
That’s right, a fully-funded event to assist you in getting out to nature, on the water, and building memories with your family and friends.
The day is run first come first served, we recommend coming early if you do have to wait for your space, there is a cracking kiosk serving tea and ice cream, and some lovely river walks in the heart of Thetford lesser-known areas. Parking in most cases is free in Thetford and everywhere is a 5-10minute stroll.
Where – we are situated on the river bank behind Riversdale Community, next to the kiosk near Tanner street car park.
Age of play – if your youngest can fit a buoyancy aid and you can keep them safe then please come along. On average most 4yr olds plus. You are welcome to bring your own if you have one for younger.
Hire- you will be hiring the family canoe that can fit 3 adults or 2 adults and 2children in the middle – dogs are welcome or a Paddleboard and again young one with you or Dog is welcome on the boards. You are hiring the equipment and as such will be required to sign a risk acceptance form that is part of our legal hire contract and will allow us to see the positive impact of the day.
Session time – 45minutes to 1hour.
