This is a glorious cycle ride through Thetford Forest including some of its open areas, dipping down into the lovely river valley for a swim and picnic midway, then a gentle ride along a wooded avenue. We will return through a lesser-known part of Brandon and part of its High Street, then back along the river to our second swim back at the start. Along the way we will hear stories of river recreation and industry and about the history and landscape of the area.
This guided cycle ride will allow you to immerse fully in and experience the landscapes along the beautiful Little Ouse river.
This event is created and led by Imogen Radford and OSBrecks volunteers.

WhatThreeWords///overheard.threaten.skips
Distance: 9.8 miles/16km
Further Cycling Information:
About half of the cycle ride is off road, with firm surfaces. There are a couple of short sections which are more sandy so some might prefer to walk. We will cycle (or if necessary occasionally walk) at the pace of the slowest.
Further Swimming Information:
Participants taking part in the outdoor swimming during the cycle ride will do so at their own risk. We will provide information on safety and risks on the day, but there will be no bathing water quality testing, lifeguarding or supervision, and people will be responsible for their own safety and that of any vulnerable or dependent people in their care. We would recommend only taking part in the swim if you have had previous experience of swimming outdoors and be able to swim. If you would like to take part but have no or limited experience of outdoor swimming, we are holding Introduction to Outdoor Swimming sessions as part of the festival (which will have bathing water quality testing). Find out more here: Intro to Outdoor Swimming
