Sapiston 5K Trail Run
Join BFER and Run Breckland for a brand new 5K run following footpaths and byways in a loop around Sapiston and Honington in Suffolk’s picturesque Black Bourn Valley.
During the run, you will be supported by a friendly team of volunteer marshals who will be based at various checkpoints around the route. There will be a tail runner/walker following on to make sure everyone returns safely. There is no cut off time, and so whether you are a walker, jogger, or runner you can join at your own pace.
Registration opens at 11am. There will be a mass start at noon, and the runners will be chip timed. All runners will receive a bespoke medal upon finishing.
This event is a collaboration between The Brecks Fen Edge & Rivers Landscape Partnership (BFER), Run Breckland, and Suffolk County Council’s Rights of Way and Access Team, to help introduce people to local landscapes and rights of way they may not have visited before. The event is made possible with thanks to the support of the National Heritage Lottery Fund.
Sapiston 5K Trail Run
Terrain: The route is a mix of road and off road and may be muddy if wet (undulating and mixed terrain comprising sand, stones, grass, tarmac, woodland tracks and fields).
Age: Any runners under the age of 16 must run within an arm’s length of a responsible adult.
Facilities: There will be free hot and cold drinks in the Village Hall, a bag drop, and toilets.
Parking: There is car parking at the Village Hall where the event starts and finishes, but please car share if you can to help reduce potential disturbance to those living nearby.
