River Exploration & Axe Throwing Experiences

Have a go at a new adventure! Explore the scenic River Lark on canoes and paddle boards for a fun family activity on the water. No experience necessary. The Bush Adventures instructors will help you get the hang of things so that you can make the most of your time on the water!

For those that wish to remain firmly on the ground, why not unleash your inner Viking! Have a go at axe throwing guided by the Bush Adventures team!



River Exploration & Axe Throwing Experiences

When: Saturday 21st September 2024

Where: Brandon Staunch

Time: Drop in from 10am – 4pm. Paddle sports available for 1 hour timeslots.


Canoe: £25 per hour

Stand up paddle board: £15 per hour

Axe throwing: £10 per 5 goes (3 axes per go)

Ages: All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult throughout. Axe throwing is for ages 8+ with parental supervision.

Accessibility: This event will be based at the riverside at Brandon Staunch. The surrounding terrain is uneven and may be muddy underfoot. The river is accessed via a concrete slipway. If you have any questions or concerns about accessibility, please contact the Bush Adventures team to assist:


Transport: The closest bus stop is located adjacent the Brandon Tesco, approximately 10 minutes walk away. For information on bus times, visit

Brandon train station is located 20 minutes walk away.

Free parking is available on the approach to Brandon Staunch, or at Brandon Leisure Centre (Church Rd, Brandon, IP27 0JB)


What to wear/bring: Closed toe shoes are essential, no flipflops. Please bring a towel and change of clothes if going on the water.


Dogs: Dogs on leads are welcome
