About
Come and join us for a night under the stars, camping out with the wildlife. With activities running throughout the afternoon and evening before, and into the morning, there will be the opportunity to take part in moth trapping, pond dipping and wildlife arts & crafts. We’ll also have an evening walk to listen and look for nocturnal wildlife, an early morning walk to watch the birds and stretch your legs, and perhaps a bird-ringing demonstration. In the evening we’ll toast marshmallows around a camp fire too!
Breakfast is included, toilet facilities will be available all night and there will always be friendly staff and volunteers around to help or answer your questions. Reserve entry fee for non-RSPB members is also included in the ticket price.
For something extra for young minds to do, in between all our led activities, you can purchase a Big Wild Summer activity bag from the Visitor Centre (£3.50) (or online in advance: https://events.rspb.org.uk/events/4758) for £4 (includes a 50p online booking fee). The activity bag includes a trail leaflet which should take 1 to 1.5 hours to complete around our Brandon Fen family trail, an activity book to take home, a pencil, a certificate to fill in when the kids have completed the trail, and a 10% off voucher for use in RSPB shops and online at shopping.rspb.org.uk.
Binoculars will also be available to hire for £2 per pair during the event, though pairs are limited on a first-come, first-served basis.
