We will be hosting an Open Water Lifeguard Qualification three-day training course.
This training is part of the Healing Waters project, which is aiming to promote learning to enjoy outdoor swimming in a safe and environmentally responsible way, and training young people in life saving and lifeguarding. The project is part of a wider set of projects, The Brecks Fen Edge & Rivers Landscape Partnership Scheme (BFER), supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
It is being held 16, 23 and 29 May at Thorpe Woodlands, near Thetford. Participants need to attend the whole course. Training under RLSS UK framework, Open Water Lifeguard. Achieving this qualification will give access to possible employment and career opportunities in the growing and very popular field of open water swimming at organised venues or events as well as opportunities to volunteer on later outdoor swimming intro sessions in the project.
