Natural Dyeing Workshop

Join us at West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village for a beginner’s workshop in using natural dyes. Try your hand at plant-based dyeing and learn how the Anglo-Saxons dyed their cloth and the colours they used.

All materials will be provided (including samples of wool, linen and silk) and you can take home your own dyed samples at the end!

  • Suitable for ages 12 and over – under 18s MUST be accompanied by an adult
  • Meet at the Visitor Centre
  • Please wear old clothes and bring an apron.
  • The workshop will be held outside and some parts without cover so please dress appropriately for the weather.
  • Please bring your own lunch. There is also a café on site
  • Does not include admission to the Anglo-Saxon Village
  • No Dogs in the Anglo-Saxon Village, assistance dogs only
  • Car parking charges apply
