Lark Valley Challenge Walk

Join our Brecks Outdoor Festival Challenge Walk, exploring the River Lark from Mildenhall to Bury St Edmunds.

During the walk, you will be guided along almost the entirety of the River Lark in Suffolk following the Lark Valley Path. In addition to enjoying the characteristic Brecks landscape, views and vistas the route provides, walkers will meet a variety of people with a stake in the river and its future. This will include volunteers who have spent decades attempting to restore the river to better health and bring back characteristic chalk river features. Participants will also meet Local Authority access staff who have been protecting the rights of access and attempting to repair sections of the river and learn about their challenges in relation to climate change, flooding and increased use of the green access network, and how the river and surrounds may look in the future.

This walk will commence at Jubilee Fields (Mildenhall) and finish at the end of the Lark Valley Path, (Bury St. Edmunds). Walk leaders will guide participant to the bus and/ or train station at the end of the walk.
