Introduction to volunteer management

A fully funded 1 day course on volunteer management for organisations working with volunteers.

During this course you will gain an understanding of why it’s important to have a formalised approach to volunteer management from the perspective of both the volunteer and the organisation. This will centre around the model of the ‘Volunteer Journey’ (Plan, Include, Support and Celebrate).
During the course you explore:

• Planning and embedding volunteering in your organisation
• How to successfully attract and retain volunteers?
• Supporting and helping volunteers, enabling them have a positive experience
• Measuring impact and celebrate success

This course will be led by Community Action Suffolk and hosted by the Brecks Fen Edge and Rivers Landscape Partnership Scheme Volunteer Hub. The course is intended for BFER project partner organisations, and Brecks based VCFSE organisations working with volunteers.

  • Refreshments will be provided, but please bring your own lunch.
  • This course will be led by Kerry Overton from the volunteering team at Community Action Suffolk
  • The Guildhall is approximately 10-15 minutes walking distance from Thetford Bus Station, and 15-20 minutes walking distance from Thetford train station. There are also multiple large free car parks located within a short walk from the location. The closest car parks are located on Cage Lane, School Lane, and Tanner Street.
