Join us for this 90 minute introductory session to Forest Bathing (guided mindfulness in nature) at Brandon Country Park in Suffolk. No prior experience of mindfulness is required, simply the desire to spend some slow, connective time with nature.
Forest Bathing is the English translation of the Japanese term ‘Shinrin-yoku’. To better understand this concept, it means ‘spending quality time, fully immersed in the forest atmosphere, under the canopy of trees, for health and wellbeing purposes.
Evidence from research shows that Forest Bathing can potentially:
- Normalise blood pressure
- Lower stress and anxiety levels
- Improve concentration and memory
- Ease feelings of depression
- Reduce chronic pain
- Improve energy
- Boost the immune system
Our session will include some gentle walking, a brief intro to what Forest Bathing is and it’s benefits, guided meditative sensory practices, tea and snacks and optional sharing to enhance the experience of the group.
