Introduction to Forest Bathing

Have a go at ‘Forest Bathing’ on this special introductory taster session. Join Nicky from Sound and Ground for a guided sensory stroll through the beautiful Brecks landscape of Brandon Country Park. On this 90 minute session you will experience Forest Bathing, which is the practice of spending quality time immersed in nature.

This session is designed for those who have never experienced a Forest Bathing session before, but who are curious and keen to try it. It will include some gentle walking, a brief intro to what Forest Bathing is and it’s benefits, guided meditative sensory practices, tea and snacks, and optional sharing to enhance the experience of the group. It takes place outdoors in all weathers, and is open to all (18 years of age or older).

What is Forest Bathing?

Although called Forest Bathing, there is no water involved (so no need for swimming costumes!). Forest Bathing is the English translation of the Japanese term ‘Shinrin-yoku’. To better understand this concept, it means ‘spending quality time, fully immersed in the forest atmosphere, under the canopy of trees, for health and wellbeing purposes. No prior experience is required, simply the desire to spend some slow, connective time with nature.
