This is the perfect opportunity for anyone with additional needs of any kind with their carer (if appropriate) to come and have a go at outdoor swimming in one of the beautiful Brecks rivers. These safe and friendly sessions are supported by qualified lifeguards and experienced swimmer volunteers. The event is designed for those who are new to swimming outdoors and would like to have a go, and those who might like a refresher or to learn about safety and tackling fears.
No diagnosis is needed, and the sessions are suitable for those with any additional needs including those who experience anxiety. There is no age limit and the numbers attending will be kept small. There is no pressure to get in the water, but support if you do from qualified lifeguards and experienced swimmer volunteers. Parents or guardians will need to get in the water with any children in their care.
The event is managed by Imogen Radford and OSBrecks volunteers with lifeguard provider David Ebbs.
