Join BFER and bat expert Jane Harris for a Guided Bat Walk at Barnhamcross Common, exploring the Common’s nocturnal nightlife.
This walk will be led by bat expert Jane Harris from the Norfolk and Norwich Bat Group. Explore Barnhamcross Common at dusk, learning about bats as you walk, and using bat detectors to listen out for and identify those present.

7:45pm – 9:45pm (the event will start at 7:45pm with an introduction on bats and using bat detectors. The group will then move into the Common for a guided walk of approximately 90 minutes)

Equipment: Please bring a torch or head torch if you have one
Clothing: Please wear clothing suitable for walking outdoors (trousers advised) and suitable for the weather (please note that this event will run into nightfall and so warm layers are advised).
Please wear closed toe footwear (ideally with ankle support)
Terrain: The walk itself will last approximately 90 minutes at a slow pace with multiple pause points. Please note that the terrain is sandy and uneven under foot.
