Fungi Fruits and Seeds

Join a relaxed autumnal stroll along the riverbanks of Thetford. The town of Thetford has two chalk rivers, the Little Ouse, and its tributary, the Thet. On this walk, you will join wildlife enthusiast and Bushcraft practitioner Jon Tyler to learn about seasonal flora, fauna, and fungi.

This walk is being hosted by BFER in collaboration with Pathmakers for the Walk Norfolk Festival 2023. Pathmakers is an accessible walking charity based in Norfolk, who launched the Walk Norfolk Festival, an annual autumn walking festival, in 2022.

When: Thursday 12th October

Where: Thetford Riverside and Ford Meadow

Time: (AM Walk) 10.30am-12.30pm, & (PM Walk) 1.30pm-3.30pm

Cost: £5.50 (This event has been heavily subsidised by funding from the National Heritage Lottery Fund to allow for low-cost tickets.).

Age: Any children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Distance: Approx. 2 miles/ 3.2k

Travel and Meeting Point: The walk meeting point is approximately a 15 minute walk from Thetford bus Interchange, and 20 minute walk from Thetford Train station.
Parking is available in the Nun’s Bridges car park where we will meet.
