Discover the wonders of the twilight world of West Stow Country Park at our evening family event this February half term.
Join Night Explorer Jon Tyler for a winter evening odyssey of astronomy, wildlife encounters, and sensory adventure.
West Stow Country Park is thriving natural landscape of heathland and woodland. Located around the historical site of West Stow Anglo Saxon Village, there are plenty of stories to discover and wildlife to spot. Keep your eyes peeled for owls and star constellations as you join this special opportunity to experience the Country Park after hours.
Suitable for ages 7+
Please wrap up warm, wear sturdy footwear and be prepared for a journey mainly in the dark. Head torches will be provided but please bring a torch if you wish to.

- Age: This event is suitable for ages 7 years+ (all children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the workshop)
- Cost: With the support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund, this event is offered on a Pay What You Want basis including a free option. Our aim is to remove barriers to taking part and we hope that the event is open and welcoming for everyone. BFER is a not for profit project supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
- Booking required: Due to limited capacity, please book if you wish to attend. After booking, if you are no longer able to attend, please contact BFER: bfer.admin@suffolk.gov.uk
- Location: West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village & Country Park, Icklingham Road, West Stow, Suffolk , IP28 6HG
- Meet outside the West Stow visitor centre (What Three Words: w3w.co/reactions.flattery.dive)
- This is an outdoor event. Please wrap up warm, wear sturdy footwear and be prepared for a journey mainly in the dark.
- Please note that West Stow Country park has a variety of terrain, and can be uneven under foot.
- Head torches will be provided but please bring a torch if you wish to.
- In the event of extreme weather, the event may be cancelled (participants will be notified in advance where possible)
- Please note that this session will take place outside of the opening hours of West Stow Anglo Saxon Village.
- Please do not bring dogs
