Drumming Residency at West Stow: 15th – 20th August

Experience drum birthing, living-history demonstrations by Bear Number 9 at West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village, and join in with a traditional drumming circle in the Great Hall.

Our ancestors drummed to celebrate and commemorate in times of transition, sorrow or joy. Join Bear number 9 as they demonstrate the processes of preparing and making sacred drums in the Saxon Village throughout the week and get involved in a public drumming circle too.

Public drumming sessions in the Great Hall
Daily: 3pm-4pm between Thursday 15th August – Tuesday 20th August (inclusive)

Suitable for all ages and abilities. No experience needed.

  • Standard admission charges apply, no booking required
  • Parking fees apply
  • Dogs are not permitted in the Saxon Village (Assistance dogs only)
  • Much of the site is outdoors, please dress accordingly

Anglo-Saxon Village Open Times: 12pm- 4pm
