Days out in the Brecks

There’s more to a day out in The Brecks than just getting into a car, often the journey is more enjoyable than the destination.

You can travel by foot, cycle, horse, bus and train. You can get off the beaten track and feel healthier and fitter too!

Whether it’s discovering the unique wildlife, strolling along a river path, striding across the heathland, cycling in the forest or shopping in one of our Market Towns you’ll find something for everyone. There’s so much to explore in The Brecks.

So when you want to take a break in The Brecks, why not take a break from the car and enjoy the scenery, fresh air and a much more relaxed pace.

We have put together three itineraries for days out in the Brecks, click links to download a copy.

Exploring Dossiers

Help with exploring the area with minimum use of a car

To help you explore the area with the minimium use of your car, 18 accommodation providers in the Brecks have compiled Exploring Dossiers which give visitors ideas for what to do and see using walking and cycling routes. Each has put together walking and cycling maps for 2, 5,and 10 miles radius from their accommodation, with information on local history, heritage, culture and places of interest along the routes.
