5k River Run, 11am:

This is a family friendly run suitable for all ages, including the use of single buggies (children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult). Fancy dress is optional, but Run Breckland will be offering a prize or two for the best water-themed costumes (there are certainly mermaids and sharks in the Little Ouse!). Once you have booked your place, head to the Run Breckland tent on Butten Island between 10am-11am on the event day to register.

Why not invite your family and friends to watch the race? The Run Breckland tent will be hosting a variety of fun outdoor games throughout the day (a ball pond, play tent, swing ball, skittles etc).

Registration from 10:00am on Butten Island

Run Starts at 11:00am

Free outdoor yoga taster sessions with Yoga with Tracey

10:15-10:45am

11:15-11:45am

Are you new to yoga, returning to yoga after a break, or perhaps a more experienced lover of yoga who would like to take your mat outside and try yoga in the outdoors? If so then sign up to one of the FREE taster sessions with Tracey (Yoga with Tracey)

The first session would be perfect if you are planning to take part in the Breckland 5k run as it will be designed to gently warm up and stretch your body, as well as calm and focus your mind, ready for the run. Equally if you aren’t taking part in the run you would be more than welcome to join in to energise you for your day ahead.

The second session will be an all round taster session, introducing you to foundational yoga asana (postures) in a gentle sequence that will be suitable for all levels of experience with an insight into how we can use our breath to calm the body and mind.

Mats will be provided.

Spaces are limited and are suitable for Over 18s only. Find out more information, and book your free place for the first or second session HERE

Free guided Sound Meditation sessions with Sound and Ground

13:30-14:00pm

Join Nicky from Sound and Ground for a relaxing session of guided sound meditation.

Taking place in a beautiful bell tent in the tranquil riverside surrounds of Butten Island, simply lay down, deeply relax, and allow the sounds to wash over you.

Nicky is a qualified sound therapy practitioner who blends a spoken meditation with playing therapeutic instruments to help transport you to a state of relaxation and deep rest.

No prior experience of meditation is required.

Spaces are limited and are suitable for Over 18s only. Find out more information, and book your free place for the first or second session HERE

Free Urban Forest Bathing with Sound and Ground

Following the activities of The Brecks River Day, join Nicky from Sound and Ground for a special FREE Urban Forest Bathing taster around the tranquil riversides and meadows of Thetford.

15:00-16:00pm

In this urban forest bathing session, Nicky will guide you on a slow, mindful walk designed to help you connect with your surroundings in a new way. Nicky is a Thetford based trained forest bathing guide who is passionate about making the practice of forest bathing accessible to all.

Immerse yourself in nature and your body and mind will thank you. Mindful time in nature has real benefits backed by science and can help boost immunity, help you feel less anxious or depressed and can aid recovery from stress.

During this session you will use your 5 senses to take in the amazing nature found all around you. The session will end with a tea ceremony, where a drink and snack will be provided.

Spaces are limited. Find out more information and book your free space HERE
